Don Marks, PsyD, the first fellow for the new Psycho-Oncology/Palliative Medicine Fellowship program at Ohio State, has been chosen to attend Course 4 of the Advocating for Clinical Excellence (ACE) Project from Oct. 13-16 in Pasadena, Calif., and the October 2010 Reunion Conference. The ACE Project Office is based at City of Hope National Medical Center, a National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated comprehensive cancer center. The primary aim of the ACE Project, which is funded by the NCI, is to improve the delivery of palliative care by psychologists, social workers and spiritual care professionals through an intensive advocacy and leadership training program. Competitively selected participants will receive more than 30 hours of didactic and experiential transdisciplinary education to improve their end-of-life knowledge, team skills and leadership abilities.
